Kalmer asked Juliana to be his wife in the sunset on the beach in Narva-Jõesuu. After seeking many places around Estonian they fell in love in first sight with Taagepera Castle and they were already sure this will be the place for their wedding day. I saw Juliana writing a speech for him in the morning, just few hours before the ceremony. I though this is something you do way before. I approached carefully, like not wanting to disturb as I think there should be more speeches in any wedding story I photograph. Juliana did it so firmly, as most of the brides are more in stress to think about it she carried on like no-one is watching. Like this is it, for him, for us and for the family and friends around us.
I saw her mother helping her to get dressed. A best friend to help Kalmer. They never saw each other before the ceremony.
I saw a father bringing her to him. I saw happy faces and happy tears.
I saw their first dance and I forget to photograph them in a moment as it was so great and prepared like I’ve never seen before. Memory pictures or digital ones? Breathless dance.
And, the most of all – I saw a family.
